Bio
Rhyme Skeme Productions is an independent music company that has been operating out of Vernon, Connecticut since 1998. The company started as a hip-hop/rap group called the Rhyme Skeme established by members Shaun Doobe and Ollie Twist. Since then the Rhyme Skeme has produced and released one of the most extensive catalogs of local underground music in history out of their self manufactured recording facility Twist Blade Studios.
The group has been consistently performing all over Connecticut since '02 at Sully's Pub, Zen Bar, Webster Underground, Bumpers Billiards, Hall of Fame, House Parties and Manchester Community College. Rhyme Skeme also headlined the Connecticut Original Music festival in '04 and '05 in Glastonbury and East Hartford as well as performing an outdoor benefit show for the Greater Hartford Urban Youth League two years in a row.
With two many projects to name from the 100+ cassette library in Ollie Twists studio, the main discography begins in 2002 with the release of "The Sun Never Sets" which birthed the Rhyme Skeme name into the local community, followed by the debut album from Ollie Twist released no more than six months later on June 17th, 2003 "Twistology", a project devised by close work with music company Mental Instruments. By August 2004 Twist had officially launched RHYME SKEME PRODUCTIONS and the Rhyme Skeme would release their biggest accomplishment to date with the 20+ track classic "Organized Rhyme" which even featured a beat and chorus by Wu-Tang Clan Killa Bee Remedy.
To be honest the RHYME SKEME as a collective group totaling 8 MC's (Ollie Twist, DoobE, Kastro, Nate Flare, EMC, Shadow, El Shadi and Steve Nyce) became relatively inactive shortly after the release of "Organized Rhyme". Ollie Twist continued work on his alias LP released in October of 2005 entitled "Nucleus" and had also been working very closely with Rhyme Skeme member Kastro becoming the first Rhyme Skeme member aside from Twist to release a full length album in November of 2006 entitled "Clear The Haze".
In 2007 the only release was a Rhyme Skeme Productions mix album entitled "Ruthless Self Promotion". RSP has been working on a project featuring Ollie Twist and Tommy Marin (formerly known as Kastro) called "Frequency 420". This album is projected to be released on April 20th, 2008 and will feature top notch production from Mental Instruments as well as a feature from Wu-Tang swordsman himself Raekwon on a track entitled "Lazy Eye".
In a sense the Rhyme Skeme name lives through the company name RHYME SKEME PRODUCTIONS, whereas the musical project or group is now Frequency 420.
